OUR HISTORY
1957
Malaplast Co., Ltd. was founded in Thailand by Dr. Mala Sitachitt, a medical doctor and a visionary entrepreneur. The company, originally named Mala Plastic, began its journey by producing high-quality melamine tableware, catering to both the local and export markets. Dr. Sitachitt’s entrepreneurial drive and focus on quality laid the foundation for the company's future growth and success.
1971
After Dr. Mala Sitachitt's passing, the leadership of the company was passed to his son, Mr. Manu Sitachitt. Under his guidance, the company expanded its operations into the emerging fields of blow molding and injection molding. This strategic move helped Malaplast capitalize on the growing demand for plastic products in the Thai market.
1980
In 1980, Malaplast made a significant investment by purchasing 16,000 square meters of land on Buddharaksa Road, where the company relocated its operations to a larger and more modern facility. This move allowed the company to expand its capabilities and increase production capacity to meet the growing demands of the market
1981
A milestone in Malaplast’s growth came in 1981, when the company formed a joint venture with Rosti A/S, a Danish company. This partnership led to the company’s name being changed to Mala Chemical Industries Co., Ltd. The joint venture provided the resources to further grow the business, particularly in producing innovative products for the expanding industrial sectors in Thailand.
1987

2002
In 2002, the Sitachitt family made a pivotal decision to buy back all shares from Rosti A/S, ending their 20-year partnership. This marked the return of full ownership under the Sitachitt family and a rebranding of the company to Malaplast Co., Ltd., solidifying its future as an independent, Thai-owned business. The company then refocused its efforts on expanding its capabilities and streamlining operations to meet changing market demands.
Post-2002
Following the shift in ownership, Malaplast continued its upward trajectory by expanding and automating its processes. Notable advancements included the automation of secondary processes like spray painting and pad printing, as well as improvements in injection molding and blow molding. Malaplast also entered the Injection Stretch Blow Molding sector and added Thermoset Injection Molding to its service offerings. During this time, the company also established an independent Mold Maintenance Center and expanded its tool-making facility to ensure top-quality production capabilities.
2024
In 2024, the third generation of the Sitachitt family began taking over the management of Malaplast, ushering in a new era for the company. With the next generation at the helm, Malaplast is poised to continue its legacy of innovation, quality, and customer focus, while adapting to the challenges of a rapidly changing industry and global market.CEO
